Offense
Offense is the strategy of scoring. There are eleven people on the field five are linemen, three wide receivers, and one quarterback, running back, halfback, and tight end. There are two ways of moving the ball which is passing or running. In running there is a few options of where to run either inside the line or outside of the line. In passing wide receiver and tight ends have post routes. Were they run to catch the ball or block. The offense has four tries to try to get passed ten yards. The line men protect the quarterback from getting tackled. The quarterback is the thrower of the ball. In the beginning of a play the quarterback he usually has the ball first.
Acceleration
An ability to accelerate quickly is vital for an offensive football player. During a passing play, potential catchers must outrun defensive players who try to limit passing options and then tackle the player who successfully catches the ball. An offensive player who reaches the end zone before defenders can catch up is open for a touchdown pass. During a run, the player with the ball must sprint as fast as possible while executing quick changes in directions. Also while peforming body fakes to fool the defenders. Done correctly, the runner snakes through opponents and quickly outspaces the defensive players in pursuit.
